Kava Report

I have been experimenting with Kava for about a week. The variety of Kava used is the Vanuatu strain which was marketed as the most potent strain.

I normally prepare Kava with some kind of flavored drink (Vitamin Water, Gatoraid, Snapple) and about 3 Tablespoons of the ground root. I put the two together, and shake for about 5 minutes. This method is not particularly effective, but is a lot easier when in a hurry.

The most effective way to take Kava is to combine water and Kava on a 1:1 ratio (Cups to Tablespoons). Either shake vigorously for awhile, or blend for 3-5 minutes. Oil can be added to help make the drink more potent. For best results, sip slowly over about a half hour until finish.

The Kava experience is best described as a mix between being drunk, and stoned. The difference is that I am not stumbling around, and acting stupid. I are very much in control while on Kava. I also have a tendancy to want to talk and tell stories. I find that Kava also helps me to sleep, and while asleep I enjoy vivid dreams.

One particular night, I had taken about 4 Tablespoons of Kava several hours before I went to sleep. My dream was a modified version of what had taken place after I drank the Kava brew. I woke up the next morning unable to recall what had acually happened the previous night.

The negative effects of Kava are not well known. There are conflicting reports on weather or not it causes Liver damage. I do not know for certain. From various Clinical studies available on harm reduction websites, I have come to the conclusion that using more than 6 Tablespoons a day can yeild some adverse side effects. I have also come to the conclusion that I SHOULD NOT drive or operate machinery while under the influence of Kava. The reason is that Kava seems to make me look very far away and focus my vision on something that is very far away.

In conclusion, Kava is a very useful plant. It helps me fall asleep fast, and is not addictive for me. Kava is also a great alternative to Alcohol. Kava is also extremely useful when attempting to quit an addictive substance. In my experience, Kava is best used in a relaxed setting with a group of close friends. I always drink it slowly in order to get the most out of your Kava.
