I'm 19, and have been living in Germany for two Years and I enjoy it most of the time, but it does get kind of boring sometimes. I live in the country, rolling hills, Cows grazing outside of my window, the whole farm town thing its nice and peaceful. I take long hikes threw the woods about everyday to keep me busy.
On one of my hikes in late October I came upon some Amanita Muscaria, I was checking out another mushroom and saw a patch of red out of the corner of my I sure enough they were Amanitas growing under a big pine tree. There where about seven of them and they where all about five inches wide. I took four of them and left the rest so the could play there role in nature. When a got home a read on how to prepare them, the best way was to dry them in my oven at 100-175 degrees. Once finished I put them in a jar until the time is right.
About a week later I had a friend come over so we could enjoy these together. We made tea because it kicks in faster and it is easier to consume. We drank the tea not bad at all, maybe because we mixed it with green tea and sugar. It was I wonderful warm and sunny day (not that common in Germany) so we went for a hike. The tea kicked in after 20 min. The first feeling was just pure wonder, I have seen these woods a hundreds of times but they just took on a new form a better form.

The trees looked like they where a million feet high but not in treating way allmost as if there were watching over us.
About 40 min in we sat down a smoked some bowls which added on nicely. For a good hour we sat there and took in nature because it looked new to us almost alive. When the wind blew we both just felt this energy from the world around us.
About three hours later we still felt great but we were getting hungry so we headed back. We don't take a certain way back we just walk in the direction of my town and about half way there my friend say he thinks he is hallucinating, and I say why? Because a see about 70 Amanitas. No way? Yes over there in that field, I looked and there they where in a field lined with pine trees. So we got back home grab two bags and went back to harvest them.
Now we have about a pound of dried mushrooms which is more then I need. And the crappy thing about that is I'm moving to Colorado in a week and I have to leave a pound of mushroom on the other side of the world.
The trip was great not too strong but I'm sure at a higher dose amanitas have some power to them. I well try them again at higher dose but thats for the future.
