I was on spring break in Florida when I first tried Salvia. My sister and I went out basically every night and got drunk on the beach. One night, however, we couldn't sneak out and alcohol. We met up with these guys Luke and Steve whom we'd met the previous night. They bought some Salvia from the little head shop in the village and Luke said it was awesome. So what the hell, I decided to try it.

Previously, I'd never tripped. I do a fair amount of weed and drinking, and I'm on antidepressants that make my experiences more intense. I'm also a lightweight. I was kinda excited and hyper that night.

Anyways, we sat down on some beach chairs and packed a bowl. I took one huge hit, and so did my sister, but she let hers out too soon. I was tripping before I even exhaled.

I fell against the chair back and thought I'd passed out...I don't know whether or not I did. I pulled myself up, which took an immense effort. My head was rolling and I heard a high pitched noise. Soon I realised that was me screaming. Then I looked at my friends, whose faces had turned 2 dimensional and looked the Van Gogh's Screamer. Not realising what I was doing, I stood up and walked over to this group of popped collars. I looked at them and said,'Stop doing what you're doing!!!' They looked confused and and were all like 'what the fuck man.'

I realised something strange...I had 2 minds! One was practical and telling me to calm down, the other was tripping outta control. It was so strange!

I guess at that point I walked away and was looking for my sis, when I started to see these purple crosses all over, folding in with the sand. My arms started tingling. I looked at them, and saw purple razor blades coming out! This frightened me a good deal. (I used to be a cutter and I thought the razors were coming back to haunt me.) Then they started poking out of my lower back. My practical mind told me to come down. My sister found me and grabbed my arm and we walked away. I stopped seeing things soon, and the razors went away. But I was still so stoned! My head felt like it was floating and the ocean sounded awesome. My whole body was tingly and refreshed.

I told my sister I was sorry for screaming when they were so close, and she gave me a funny look. Guess I hadn't screamed...It was all part of the trip. I wish I had been in a calmer state of mind when I tried it.
