Not That Warm Opiate Feeling...

I am a chronic pain patient who was just prescribed Tramadol. As most people know, Tramadol is not currently a controlled substance like Vicodin or Codeine.
I enjoy taking pain medication recreationally (which is not safe, by all means). I've dabbled with morphine, tylenol codeine, darvocet, vicodin, percocets, oxycontin.
I had read prior reports and many people equate the opiate high of 2 or 3 50 mg's of Tramadol to that of tylenol codeine or hydrocodone (vicodin). I do not agree with those experiences. The Tramadol high I am experiencing right now is nothing like Vicodin. I do feel sort of stir of relaxation, and a slight fuzzy feeling. There is also this unsettling feeling, where I feel as if I want to take a nap, but I know if I tried I would not be able to sleep.
I was really hoping for that opiate high that one gets with vicodin, but it's just not there.... Shame really.
