I first want to say that this was not necessarily a 'BAD' trip. I did continue on and smoke more of the 40x later that day, and I believe the reason for the reaction that I had was because I had used salvia but at a much lower dose previously, so I believed I had some idea what the drug did to ones mind, a very bad idea.

I bought a 1g vile of salvia and immediately went home to smoke it. The radio was on the local rock station and it was just me and one other person. I used a regular size bowl that you can buy at most any headshop and loaded it full to the top and smoked it like one would do with marijuana, a very large full hit and held it as long as possible. It took about 5 seconds for the drug to show any effects, but as soon as I felt it coming on, I lost almost all sense of reality.

At first the room simply whirrled about my head, but the trip quickly turned into flashes of obscure images and there was a strong pressure equal to gravity pressing diagonally downward against me (the 'sideways' pressure is a constant with this drug and lasts the duration of the trip). The only idea that would go through my head was that I had somehow broken through a dementional rift and that the higher powers were very upset. The radio stopped playing music and I could hear a voice from it tell me personally to sit back and not move. I quickly became very afraid and though that there was some sort of cosmic conspiracy against me. I fought to stand up off the couch and ran to the nearby bedroom to look out the window to make sure that outside was still there. When I saw that it was I thought to myself that I could simply walk down the house through my second story window. Luckly I realized that it wouldnt be smart to do so, so I ran outside and almost started running off before my friend, who I'd completely forgot existed, chased me down and reminded me I was on a drug.

The whole experience lasted only about 2 minutes, but it left me shaking, awestruck and dumbfounded. Although its a very short-term trip, its just as powerful as any drug I've ever done. In the end it was a very telling experience as far as a psychoactives capibilities, but none-the-less very entertaining.
