I have tried modafinil several times (100- 300 mg daily) when I was really tired and couldn't stay awake at work. It really works although I am worried about the long-term effects. I would recommend to get more sleep, but if I really have no choice (e.g. for exam, interview etc.) then it's certainly an option. Sometimes my heart seems to be racing though and I can't sleep at night.
