No Rec. Value, but Good for Sleep/Depression
Citation: South Asian Hick. "No Rec. Value, but Good for Sleep/Depression: An Experience with Trazodone (exp52964)". Erowid.org. May 25, 2018. erowid.org/exp/52964
Daily meds at the time:
Cymbalta (duloxetine), 60mg
Neurontin (gabapentin), 600mg
I was actually started on Trazodone (Desyrel) 50mg for sleep issues. That didn't do anything. Then 100mg... nothing. 150mg... now I could actually fall asleep at night.
I did take 300 and 450mg for the heck of it several times in the couple months after starting... but negligible effect... just slightly more vivid dreams.
Guess I'm 'neurotolerant'... given that 50mg has given many people bad trips and/or knocked them out cold instantly.
On a side note, though I can't say this is a 'trip' effect... it, together with the Cymbalta, eventually tossed me from catatonic depression into a fun episode of hypomania... a nice constructive one, 5 months long, where for some reason, I cycled 3,000 miles on my poor racing bike. I wasn't bipolar until this one!
