About me:
I am a 16 year old highschool softmore and a straight A student. I do not suffer from ADD or ADHD as far as I am aware.

Previous Drug Experiences (In order):
Caffine, Vicodin, Oxycodone, Alcohol, Salvia

Background:
I have always felt like reality is a wonderful thing, but even though I love it, drugs have always greatly interested me.

I drink coffee on regular basis to help keep myself focused during first period classes in school.

I was prescribed both Vicodin and Oxycodone when I had my wisdom teeth removed, but I only ever took one of each. Once the pain was gone I threw out the Oxycodone (I don't want to touch anything TOO powerful as my family has a history of addiction), but I am still holding onto the Vicodin.

I started drinking socially a few months ago, but I never drink alone. When I do drink, I do so with the intent to get hammered.

I bought some salvia two weeks ago, and I find it a lot of fun. I haven't smoked any of my extract yet, but chewing a moderate dose of leaf is a great experience.

I have yet to touch cannabis, even though my sister’s stash is about ten steps from my room. I will probably try it over the summer, but I can’t afford to be a pothead during school.

My Story:
Recently my dad was described a higher dose of Ritalin, so his 10 mg pills are sort of like a back up now, and he has a lot of them. I knew I wanted to try some, and lucky for me, he and my siblings were leaving the house for a while. I would have preferred to try Adderall (my sister keeps a bottle of it in her stash, but she left it at my mom’s house), but I figured Ritalin would provide a somewhat similar experience.

Time = 0:00
Once I was alone, I grabbed a 10 mg pill, crushed it under an ATM card, and make 2 lines out of the dust. I used a rolled up dollar and snorted a line through each nostril. It didn’t hurt at all. My heart rate was elevated a little bit immediately, but I think that might have been because I always get a little nervous when doing drugs.
I cleaned up my area, and I say down and started writing a 7-10 paper for my honors Chemistry class. This paper is due tomorrow and I have been putting it off for weeks now.

Time = 0:45
I felt a slight buzz, but I overall didn’t feel too much above my threshold, so I crushed another pill and snorted it in two lines. Then I said to myself something that my mom always tells me: “life’s too short.” I crushed another pill and snorted it in one line. After this I went back to working on my paper. I wanted to talk to someone, so I sent one of my friend’s who has been away for a couple weeks an email. I the logged on AIM, but there was no one online to talk to. Then something happened that I really enjoyed. Realizing that I had nothing to do but write my paper, my sober self would have just sat around staring at the screen, but on Ritalin I just kept writing. I was not nervous about not getting it done, which is what usually prompts me to do schoolwork, rather I just wanted to accomplish something.

Time = 1:00
At this point, I am writing my paper and I really enjoy it. I cannot characterize it as fun, but I feel great doing it. As you can tell from my list of previously used drugs, I have never experienced euphoria, but I believe here is where I began to feel it. I felt like everything in the world was exactly how it should be. I did have an elevated heart rate, which was uncomfortable, but I felt like it didn’t matter.

Time = 3:00
For two straight hours I was completely focused on my paper. Normal distractions were completely blocked from entering my mind. It was at this time that my family came home. My heart jumped because I thought that my dad might catch me, but I quickly calmed down and decided that what must come must come. He didn’t suspect a thing. At this point I began writing this report, which has taken 45 minutes, because I think about every word before I type it on the page.

Reflection (well not really, I’m still buzzed):
Ritalin is simply amazing. While my initial goal was just to make writing my paper easier, I got so much more out of these past few hours. I am a quick tempered person, and I often get angry at my family for no reason, but when they got home, I realized that life is truly too short to get worked up over anything, especially when it involves the people you love. The only negative side affect that I experienced throughout this high has been my elevated heart rate, but, while it is uncomfortable, it has not altered my opinions about Ritalin.

Due to a history of alcoholism and drug addiction in my family, I am very careful in terms of what I use and when I use it. Even if I feel less focused or cranky tomorrow, I will not use Ritalin again until I am completely back to my normal self, although I may do a stronger dose next time around.
