I initally became interested in clonazepam when my neighbor acquired some for his anxiety. I had been having trouble getting to sleep in recent weeks due to an overactive mind. After taking .5mg successfully to take the edge off of an overwhelming cannabis high the other night, I decided to have another trial with the substance. I don't take any medication and consider myself in good overall health. My experience with drugs lies almost exclusively in the field of psychedelics.

T+ 0:00 - I take 3mg melatonin and complete some online coursework before getting ready for bed. It's a Sunday night and it's not unusual for me to have insomnia or a rough time sleeping before the week begins. This can be quite troublesome.

T+ 0:20 - I crush up two .5mg klonopin pills into a fine pink powder. I separate the small pile into two smaller ones, and then divide one of those again into two thin lines, one for each nostril. After insufflating the dust I place the remaining clonazepam under my tongue and let it dissolve as I go take a shower.

When I get in the shower I notice I have a very slight head buzz that tells me the drug is beginning to work. It goes away quickly. The drip isn't altogether unpleasant. It tickles the back of my nose and throat, and it has a chilling feeling. When I breathe in deeply the moisture in the air accentuates this and I wind up almost sneezing a couple times.

The real effect was noticeable after my attention drifted away from how my nose was feeling. Normally when I take showers I let my mind wander into my thoughts, concerns, goals, and expectations regarding the immediate future. Clonazepam allowed me to experience what one of my professors calls 'mindfulness,' or being aware of the present moment. Instead of being caught up with the future I was able to just relax in the steaming water and let my worries drift away. Even when I tried to think about worrisome things, I found that they couldn't hold my attention. It was much more engrossing to focus on the more enjoyable sensation of warmth.

T+ 0:35 - I take one more 3mg melatonin and fall asleep within two minutes. I normally wake up during the night or take at least 10-20 minutes to fall asleep (even with melatonin), however this time I was out like a log until I had to wake up the next morning. I can't recall any dreams that I had during the night.

Overall, my experience with clonazepam was positive and I got what I expected out of something classified as an anxiolytic. It certainly had a very tangible effect at the dose I used.
