I have been a regular drug user for about 20 years now, mostly marijuana and class A recreational drugs. The only problem with getting older is your suppliers seem to diminish. For this reason I thought I'd explore the world of legal highs. The first to try was cactus, which I thought was o.k. but I probably didn't have nearly enough and was nasty to get down. So I saw salvia and thought I'd give it a try as the reports looked good. I ordered 3 salvia and soma spliffs, smoked them all and got nothing. I wasn't surprised, I mean, how good can a legal high be ? So I decided to give it one more try and order the strongest strength I could get, the 40x extract.
The salvia arrived, 333mg of 40x extract. I was really looking forward to it but expecting the worst. I really thought it was just hype to boost sales. I started off all wrong, my partner was going to be my sitter but she insisted on having the t.v. on.
I loaded up my pipe with just a little to start with and had a hit, holding in the hot smoke as long as i could and sitting back and closing my eyes. At first I didn't seem to be getting much from it, my eyes felt they were leaving my head but that was it. The talking from the t.v. was distracting from the effects so I told my partner I was going upstairs to lie on the bed.
As i got upstairs I loaded the pipe again and took another hit, lying back on the bed. As I closed my eyes I started to see images from my childhood. At one point I was a transparent blob with blobby arms and legs swimming through the rooms of the house I lived in as a child. After about 10 minutes my partner came in and asked if I was o.k. I remember being annoyed that she'd sobered me up a bit. I assured her that I was o.k. and told her to go back downstairs. This was o.k. I thought but not mindblowing, just daydreaming really. So the next hit was going to be BIG.
I loaded my pipe, I remember at this point I had just under half the tube of salvia left. I lay back on the bed and took a big hit. I don't remember anything after that. The next thing I'm aware of is a very loud, what only can be described as electrical humming behind me. This bit is so hard to describe but I'll do my best. I am no longer lying on the bed, I'm part of the bedcovers. All I can see/feel is a massive bedcover which is blindingly bright yellow and white. I'm aware of what seems like giant entities behind me, they seem to be laughing at me. They are in charge and we are just their playthings. I then get a sensation of being pulled apart from the feet upwards, as the sensation gets higher my breathing becomes harder as I think my lungs are being pulled away from me. I go into complete panic, everthing I ever knew was a lie, my whole life had just been a dream and this was the reality.
At this point my fight or flight reactions kicked in and I realised I had to pull myself away. I tried to rip myself from the bedcovers, thrashing from side to side. As I did so, I kept leaving ripples of myself behind which began to rise and try to cover me. I put my arms out in front of me to block them and sat up, as I did so I saw a crack of light coming from the door and headed for it. I made it to the landing, I had no recollection of taking salvia, what day it was, what time it was, was my partner home ? I made my way down the stairs shouting her name to see if she was home. She quickly came and helped me down the stairs, I remember I made her hold both my hands so I could keep her in front of me. At this point I remembered what I'd been doing and started laughing loudly shouting fucking hell over and over again. I was sure I was going to die. After I settled down I went upstairs to throw the rest of the salvia down the toilet, but it was gone and I haven't found it since !
This was a truly horiffic experience which I will never repeat. My partner said she had only gone back downstairs for about 10 minutes but for me it felt like hours.
