Got Sucked in and Couldn't Stop
Fentanyl
Citation:   Junkie Scientist. "Got Sucked in and Couldn't Stop: An Experience with Fentanyl (exp74411)". Erowid.org. Apr 28, 2016. erowid.org/exp/74411

DOSE:
2 mg IV Pharms - Fentanyl (daily)
BODY WEIGHT: 230 lb
I'm a research scientist in a field that utilizes large animal (porcine/Pig) models of disease. One protocol called on us to use large doses of Fentanyl along with other drugs to anesthetize these animals. Frustrated with the small quantities available to us through the university pharmacy we arranges for veterinary quantities (25 bottles of 50 ml at a concentration of 0.25 ug ea, the equivalent of 2000mg of morphine per bottle).

Shortly after obtaining these quantities, the protocol was cancelled. I drained 20-23 bottles and replaced the fluid with saline. Over the next 2 months, I was shooting 25-50 ml of this concentration per day in 5 ml IV injections. I was disappointed with the high, it wasn't as euphoric as demerol but after a while, I got used to it. Very satisfying. I respond to large opiate doses the same way, lots of energy, hyper organization and achievement and this 2 month period was among the most productive of my career. Withdrawal took about a week and was not as bad as oxycontin.

My preference for injectable analgesics is still demerol but fentanyl was a very satisfying experience.
