Prescribed for Anxiety and Insomnia

This is my first exerience with Lorazepam.

Took 1 pill of .5 mg Lorazepam as prescribed for anxiety and insomnia. After about 90 mintues I felt a very minor calming and euphoric effect. I actually laughed at something humorous I was reading, which I hadn't done in some weeks prior. I soon fell asleep after not having slept for 30 hours.

I slept for about 4 hours, waking up about once an hour for a minute each time from vivid dreaming. I never entered a deep sleep. For the duration I experienced very detailed dreams. Just ordinary dreams with enhanced vividness.

I also experienced a swooshing sensation for the duration that was somewhat comparable to a boat ride, but i was the boat. I could feel a physical swoosh pulse thru my body radiating mildly from my core and reach a crescendo in my extremities, particularly in my arms. I also had a slight numbness in lower arm and hand as if it had fallen asleep. Which made me dream i was squeezing a squishy racquet sized ball.

When I awoke I felt rested but lethargic and a heavy body sensation which only lasted about 30 minutes. That I guess is expected and tolerable.

This drug may have relieved my symptoms partially but I don't consider partially good enough and with all the side effects I experienced I have decided to call my doctor back and report what I have experienced in hopes of obtaining a more suitable medication.
