I had turned off the heating, locked the doors and put the dog and cat in another room. The lights were dimmed and it was just my partner and myself in the room. I sat on the floor, filled the small pipe and took a few inhalations. I then quickly set the pipe down, lay down my head and closed my eyes.

First came the prickliness over my whole body, like being stung by some very weak nettles. I was then pulled diagonally into another more familiar existence. I was with true friends who had always known me and I had always known them. I experienced much joy in this two dimensional world. We were all part of something beyond what the human mind could ever comprehend. It made perfect sense in that infinite moment.

Then I was transported to a 1930's beach scene. Striped costumes and pointy moustaches. Kids playing and making the joyful sound carefree children make. This seemed to last a lifetime.

Then I began to fall. What was I falling into? Terror took over my mind. What was happening, why was I being dragged from this perfect scene. I fel constricted and I didn't like it. I felt gravity pulling on my head and feet.

I opened my eyes still hearing the children play and was horrified at what I seen.

I was a man in a room on planet earth. The salvia had enabled me to forget my very existence. In that place where the salvia had taken me there had been no ego or fear. Complete freedom from the body and physical world. The only fear was being ripped into this so called reality. The salvia world seemed closer to true reality. A reality free from the constraints of 3 dimensions. A reality based on pure thought.

I never touched Salvia divinorum since as my experience is so important to me and I don't want to play with fire.

I now understand how total amnesia may feel like, which I think is an important lesson.
