I am prescribed Lyrica/pregabalin for compressed nerves in my back, I have pretty severe pain from time to time. At the recommended doses for me (100mg 2x a day) it is quite helpful for those pains. At higher doses I found that this drug is more fun than anything else I've had (including opiates I've taking for my back, hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine, even fentanyl on one occasion).

The reason I enjoy Lyrica/pregabalin is the length of time it lasts and when I run out there is no real withdrawal.

A light dose for me is 600 - 700mg. This is the dose I prefer most often, I can function, work at my employer or home, and generally take care of all of my responsibilities with no problems. I just feel happy and content. It's not an outright euphoria like a good dose of opiates, but more of a content relaxed feeling. A little head clouding is noticed at this dose, sometimes it can be a bit hard to concentrate, but it's really not that interfering, yet I have a nice happy buzzing feeling that lasts for hours. I really like this dose if the wife and I are going to a party, it really loosens me up and goes nicely with beer/alcohol. It's also a nice dose if i'm going to sit at home and play video games, watch TV or sports, etc.

I've gone to higher doses as well. Once I get over the 1gr (1000mg) level Lyrica/pregabalin shifts gears on me. At lower doses it's a nice subtle all day buzz and contentedness feeling. At the higher dose for me it's a stoned/drunken buzz. I can't walk straight. I wouldn't dare drive a car. Marked euphoria occurs at this level. This is a fun level to visit, but it's not for the every day. I have to have a day where I have nothing to do to enjoy this level.

The big pros to me about Lyrica/pregabalin is that it last so long. Once it kicks in i'll likely feel it all day, when I decide to go to sleep it'll make me sleep like a baby, and I almost always get a nice afterglow the next day, I just feel happy and content when I wake.

Lyrica/pregabalin isn't perfect though. First, it takes a long time to kick in after ingestion (I always go oral). I think a lot of people write this drug off because it takes so long to get going that they just go use other substances after a while and don't notice the Lyrica/pregabalin too much. For me effects occur a good 2-2.5 hours after ingestion on an empty stomach. The other downside to Lyrica/pregabalin is the tolerance factor. I became tolerant very quickly. For me I can take it two days in a row with just a slightly elevated dose from the first day (another 100-200mg) and get good effects. After that I have to take a break for a week or so before using it again, otherwise I get very diminishing returns.

Last thing I want to report on is using this with benzos. I take temazepam to help sleep from time to time. If I am flying on Lyrica/pregabalin then pop 60mg of temazepam, it absolutely destroys me. It's a stoning/drunk feeling that is hard to express in words. Euphoria is off the charts, but at the same time accomplishing any task that requires any thinking should just be thrown out the window. To this day this is the best combo I've ever had.

If you ever get a chance to try this substance, I highly recommend it. Just give it a chance, be patient while waiting for its effects to kick in and you will be rewarded. For me 600mg is a great dose to start at for my body size. Be safe and enjoy this wonderful drug.
