It was a crazy night, what better way to end it than taking up a dare to smoke half a gram of tobacco in one hit. My friend weighed it out, and the bowl was packed. I grabbed my Bic, and prepared myself for what would turn out to be the worst experience of my life with tobacco.

I'm not new to smoking tobacco out of bongs, I actually prefer it over cigarettes, I had been smoking tobacco in bongs for about 3 months before this experience. I find it gets me a lot more light headed.

So I proceeded to light the bowl, and within a second the entire brown mound of tobacco was completely cherried, the smoke crawled its way up the pipe and into my lungs. About 5 seconds into the hit, I started to feel a burning sensation, which is normal for large hits. The bowl snapped, and the entire bong was still milked with smoke. At that point I knew I couldn't inhale anymore but stupidly I attempted to clear the remaining smoke.

It hit me like a train, it felt like I just inhaled glass, the most putrid, disgusting tar taste filled my mouth and throat, and I coughed out the smoke. It took about 10 coughs to get all the smoke from my lungs, each cough was like getting stabbed in the lung. After the smoke released from my lungs, almost instantly this wave of euphoria swept over me. It was the most intense head rush I've ever had. I felt like I was drowning, I was gasping for air, but no matter how much I inhaled it still felt like I was holding my breath underwater. My body began buzzing and tingling, it swept from my head to my feet, the most intense body load I've experienced.

I started to get massive stomach discomfort, and felt the sensation to purge. I jumped out of my seat and ran to the bathroom... Bad idea. I got up way too fast, when I was already very lightheaded, and it hit me. Everything started turning black, I got a sharp pain in my head, and I collapsed to the floor. I woke up less than a minute later with my friends circled around me. The disgusting chemical tar taste remained in my throat for about half an hour after the hit, and I would soon come to be known as the 'smoke swallower.'
