I first encountered 2C-I through some friends selling it as 'molly'. My roommates had decided late one friday night (around 1AM) they wanted to roll. I, however, was the only one without money and had to grudgingly accepted the fact I would be missing out this night. The actual amount they chose to snort I'm not quite sure of but they described the effects as instantaneous, further explaining it to be the best 'molly' they'd ever purchased. Considering their almost daily use of MDMA, such a claim was impressive and I became further agitated at myself for not having my wallet on me. The night droned on. I crawled into bed around 7AM, too drunk and too tired to keep up with my friends who were still bouncing off the walls with no signs of coming down.
The next day we discussed the night and several of them had concerns they had taken something else (due to it's extremely powerful effects). It got talked about, shrugged off and eventually forgotten about.
A month later, the same friend that had originally sold it to us invited me over. We headed up to his room where he showed me to several, long, white lines. He told me it was the same stuff he'd sold as molly and described its effects but couldn't give me a substance name. I'm usually pretty smart about experimenting and typically learn the ins and outs of a substance before trying it so naturally I was hesitant. It didn't take long before I finally caved and up my nose it went.
I sat back down. The pain was pretty intense but nothing I couldn't tolerate. My head started to throb and my face felt like it had caught fire. Five minutes later it had completely subsided.
Then..WHAM. As my friend had warned it would, it all came at once. I felt indescribable. There was a loud whizzing noise in my ear and I felt as my body was vibrating. It was like nothing I'd ever experienced. The initial rush only lasted 60 seconds but it was absolutely incredible.
The first surge quickly leveled off and I was able to regain my composure. The body buzz was gone but I felt an insatiable urge to move, dance, talk, ANYTHING. Concentrating was impossible. I kept losing my train of thought before I could even finish a sentence. All short term memory was shot, I would have really intense conversations with my buddy and his roommates but would completely forget everything we'd discussed 30 seconds later. My heart felt like it was about to jump from my chest. I became very anxious. Had I been in a club or somewhere I had an outlet for my energy I'm sure I would've felt better. Instead I was confined to sitting on a bed and rocked continuously for hours.
I became instantly dehydrated. Even after drinking all night I not longer had a desire to consume alcohol and instead drank over a gallon of water. My pupils also became extremely dilated. More so then I've ever seen. My jaw clenched and I had intervals of being really hot. Any concept of time was gone. I'd wait what seemed like five seconds only to check the clock to see an hour passed by. My grip on reality was shattered.
All of this could have been due to the fact we kept cutting lines until we were completely out and continued by doing everything they originally intended to sell. I never felt the whizzing body buzz again but each line hurt my nasal passage less and like my concept of time, I zero idea of how much we were doing or had done.
After my experience I read that 2C-I had many similarities to LSD and was actually considered a hallucinogen but I never once felt like I was tripping. Maybe because I associated it more closely with coke and MDMA then I did acid and therefore was more inclined to feel energetic and tuned in then I was to hallucinate.
Unlike coke, however, the come down was hours later and I never felt the urge to do another line. Urge being the key word. I did feel as if I could handle any amount and while I'm not familiar with what exactly the safe dosage is I can see how it would be quite an easy drug to over dose on.
My thoughts on the entire experience are neutral. It was a surge no amount of amphetamine will ever be able to match but the anxiety, heart palpitations, dry mouth, paranoia, short term memory, hot flashes and jaw grinding over shadowed the overall feeling a little too much and after coming down, I was reminded of all the reasons I don't do adderall (I'd like to note after coming down around 8AM we smoked a blunt which really helped but did the final bag of 2C-I 30 minutes later, defeating the whole purpose of the blunt).
I would give it a 2nd try only if I was in a different environment and had a controlled amount. I feel like that's where I went wrong. I'm not much into uppers as it is and hate having to cope with insurmountable energy. I'm also uncomfortable using drugs with short histories and little known about its long term impacts.
I'm glad I tried it. I definitely unlocked a new level of feeling but I don't intend to further pursue use.
