Finally Betel Nut Success!
I've tried using betel nut several times, always without any success. The first time, I got the lime on my lip and cheek and it was very painful. It took over a week for the inside of my mouth to heal.
The next time I used it I did not use a whole leaf with the nut and lime and got no effect.
Finally I tried using about 4 full leaves with a little tobacco that was supplied in the bag that I bought off of a street vender in the Philippines. I removed the outside part of the betel nut exposing the inner nut which I split into 2 pieces. I placed a small amount of the lime in-between the two halves of the nut the wrapped the whole thing with the 4 leaves and part of the tobacco leaf. I placed the whole thing in my mouth and started chewing. I immediately felt a warm feeling around my neck and head. I even started to sweat around my collar. Thinking that more is better, I put a little more lime on another leaf with a little more of the tobacco leaf put this in my mouth as well.
The feeling I felt was like taking too much caffeine. I was shaking and a little off balance. Then I felt nauseous and even got sick. I had to spit the whole thing out because the effect was overwhelming in a bad way. I was glad that the feeling wore off quickly and I was back to normal in a few minutes.
