Lotus/Lily - Nymphaea nouchali var caerulea

After reading much about 'legal' entheogens I came across the Blue Lotus. My appeals to the Lotus were its noted feels of euphoria, floatyness (my main appeal) and the warmth around the head. Being as to that I am not 21 (of age to purchase alcohol) I was more interested in Smoking the Sacred Lotus then soaking it in wine. However, with this being said I COULD NOT find ANY reasonably consistent report of someone smoking the Lotus alone, or if there was one it hardly went into any detail. So in this spirit of discovery I purchased the Lotus in order to determine its relevance in terms of smoking it.

I purchased 1/2 oz of grade A, Blue Lotus (Nymphaea Caerulea) from a reputable online vendor.

The Blue Lotus arrived a couple of days later, and I opened it and smelled it (it smelled familiar at the time but now I realize it smells like the freezed dried strawberries in Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries in it ). I prepared all of my rolling materials and proceeded to roll a sizable rollie (probably 1-2 grams). I lit it up, and these are the effects I felt:

-first couple of hits....nothing...taste, not much to say.....smoke-harsh at best, would suggest water pipe
-4th or 5th start of something, almost a warm, fuzzy feeling in head, very relaxed, warm-pleasant feeling through body

7th or 8th

-pleasurable feeling, mellow but feels good (like a cigarette after a couple of days without)
-Very mild opiatic feeling (like initial set in of a VERY low dose opiate I.e. Hydrocodone)
-feeling of relaxation persists

Near end of LARGE rollie

-out of place feeling, trance like (doesn't persist, ends with the end of smoke)

Effects After smoke: Lasts 15-20 min. Relaxation (mild), feelings of warmth around head, mild euphoria

Conclusion:

-as a 'legal high': this ain't what I was looking for, sorry no if's and or buts about it.
-as an alternative to smoking cannabis: Nothing beats the real thing, and this isn't even feasibly close.
-as an alternative to tobacco: This is probably the one thing, like tobacco this gives nice feeling afterwards (better then tobacco) but I still have those lovely urges and cravings.

All in all pleasant but not what I was looking for, I am not saying that the effects cannot be more noticeable, pleasurable etc. There are other methods that will get you where you 'want to be' however smoking this WILL NOT get you there, if you want to be inebriated use the wine method (again I cant because of age restrictions).
