Experience Report

I am interested in giving an experience report; but I'm also concerned about giving one that resulted in any legal troubles. I'm 65 years old, happly retired, and I don't want any problems.

In the very early 60s a friend of mine visited the New Thought Unity Church in Clifton, near the U.C. campus. A lecture was being given by Timothy Leary on Psychedelic Drugs and the Religious Experience.

At the end of the lecture amplules containing LSD from Sandoz were sold to those interested.

Later my friend visited Millbrook and studied with Leary from a week or so.

I sure I can provide a better description and supply more information about the events.

At one time I knew a person who had a program from Leary's lecture at New Thought. He has since passed and I do not have it. I called New Thought to obtain any records and they said that they have no record of the event.

He was only interested in LSD an the religious experience.

It was at his home in Cincinnati that I tried LSD for the first time. I knew exactly what I was taking and the approx. ammount., 60 micrograms.

After that experience, I took LSD with him several times. One time I tried 100 micrograms.

Now, for the religious experience (not that the others were not).

One evening as planned, we planned a session in his trip room.
He acted as the guide since he had done it before (without a guide). With music being played by another person out of the room, It was only about 10-15 minutes before I had to lay down on my back. I was under going process of ego death almost immediately. Within the first hour or so, I experienced ego death, became one with everything, the end of I/Other, and the Clear or White Light.

It was an experience that I will never forget.

I have taken street acid since then and can tell, even the best is NOT the same. It doesn't produce the same kind of experience on a high dose and there was always the 'great' feeling that one had the next day.
