After several bowls of marijuana and a large bowl of resin I was already fairly high when R broke out the salvia. She loaded a bowl and took a hit, passed it to me. I took a hit and handed it back. After a couple seconds I felt a cooling sensation spreading from the top of my head and shoulders down my body like a thick syrup. It was very pleasant, so I was very excited when R handed the bowl back and I took a very large hit. I held it in as long as I could and exhaled.
About five seconds after exhaling the second hit I stopped noticing the cooling sensation and instead felt as though I was made of sand, and I was slowly degrading and collapsing like a sand castle in the rain. It reminded me of those orange sparkly 'waterfall' fireworks, and I felt like the sparkling tails as they slowly disintegrated and streaked down through the sky. Instead of the sky, I was sitting on R's bed of course, and I felt as though I was dissolving down through the second floor of her house, all the way through the basement and into the earth.
I suddenly realized that I had never felt like this before, and I told R that I was melting through the floor. She gave me a strange look, and I shook my head and closed my eyes to clear it out and concentrate better. As soon as I closed my eyes, though, I was bombarded by the most intense closed eye visuals I'd had yet.
I was suddenly rushing backwards through space at a huge rate of speed, and the entire universe was suddenly pixelating into cubes and rectangles. They were multiplying at a really extreme rate, and though I was flying backwards incredibly fast, I felt as though the pixelation was going to catch up to me and consume me as well. I had a few moments of intense wonder and fear that lasted a very long time, though the fear was somehow not all that unpleasant.
After what felt like quite a while, I realized suddenly that I was lying on my back, my hands were pressed over my eyes, and I was rolling around and screaming, 'Everything is bricks!' repeatedly. As soon as I realized it, I opened my eyes, stopped screaming and sat up. It was as simple as that. I was back on R's bed. What had felt like a long time flying backward through space now seemed like only a few seconds, and my sense of time in my memories reordered itself.
These were the strongest effects I felt all night. I had some more mild closed eye visuals for about an hour. Otherwise I felt very refreshed and somehow incredibly neutral and culturally unbiased, like I had not been raised in any specific culture at all, and I could form my own ideas and opinions about everything I saw. I felt like a blank piece of paper. It was extremely pleasant, and I felt much more comfortable with the idea that humans can barely grasp what is really going on around them in the universe.
I am planning on trying salvia again soon. It was very intense for a short time, but from my own personal experience, very worth it.
