Throughout my years in college, I have consumed many different drugs, including but by no means limited to marijuana, shrooms, LSD, Suboxone, MDMA, cocaine, adderall, Percocet, Salvia, and assorted anti-anxieties and anti-depressants. Mephedrone stands alone above them all in my mind, and is the only drug that ever presented to me any real threat of addiction. Not only to myself, but to our entire household, which was often fueled by the drug, and each others habits, to frequently pull all-nighter parties and collectively binge.

We were first introduced to Mephedrone, which we affectionately knew as Meow or M4, seven months ago, through a source who would often provide it to us in quantities for free, if not incredibly cheap. We bonded through the drug in so many positive ways, but it had a lingering hold on our nostrils and eventually our bank-accounts.

Although most of my friends complain about an intense burn when snorting M4, the burn and drip never bothered me more than that of cocain. About five minutes after taking my first blast (apx. 50mg, nasally), I was immediately hit by a feeling of instant euphoria. It was as if I was rolling on Molly and had simaltaneously blown 3 decent lines of coke; empathetic and energetic. After that first night, my roommates and I began using Meow regularly (.25g-1g per person per night, once or twice within a two week span).

When I was on it, I found myself magnetically drawn to the people around me; the need to hug, touch, and caress was overpowering. I could have run around outside or just sat in one place and I would have been just as excited either way (although physical activity is often more intense). There was also a noticable increase in libido. Sex on Meow is incredible, but it is often difficult for either partner to finish. So it grants endurance and energy but can be frustrating as well.

Our household consensus was that the most intense effects of Mephedrone are felt after inhaling your third average size blast of around 50-75mg spaced about 20 minutes apart, or inhaling one large sized blast of 100-150mg or so (but I wouldn't recommend that until you have had some experience with the drug). Some of us tried licking M4 and experienced similar effects, but the taste is incredibly bitter and unpleasant.

As for the side-effects of Mephedrone, it is very dehydrating and will leave you with drymouth and chapped lips, so I recommend stocking up with a few bottles of gatorade and some lip balm if you plan to make a night out of it, but do not overhydrate. M4 creates jaw-clenching and a significant loss of appetite as well.

It can be mixed with a little alcohol, but don't go crazy drinking because it will put a strain on your heart and dehydrate you even further. Weed goes great with it, though, and really mellows the high. We've also tried mixing it with Ketamine, Cocaine, and Molly, which have all gone well except that the Meow seems to slightly overpower the effects of the other drugs.

There isn't a very noticeable comedown from M4 like there is from coke. If anything, pure exhaustion from having stayed up for so many hours tends to be the most noticeable effect. Also the occasional canker sore on the tongue or inside of cheeks that should disappear within a couple of days.

I don't recommend pulling more than one night in a row on M4 and without sleep, because the mental need to sustain the high is so great that you become unaware of how long you have been depriving yourself of food and sleep. I have seen friends go for up to 5-6 days straight binging on Mephedrone on more than one occasion, enough for them to begin hallucinating of sleep deprivation. I have also seen a line weighing .25g be blown at once with no noticeable side-effects occurring after the fact, but needless to say it's NOT recommended to anyone.

I would say that Mephedrone offers the most brilliant experience I could ask for in a drug, but it carries with it a dangerous temptation that is often difficult to ignore. It's lack of immediate negative side-effects and relative affordability makes it easy for a user to rationalize frequent abuse. Fortunately, it seems to have a relatively safe Effective Dose, since after 7 months of frequent use, neither myself or any of my friends have encountered any significant health concerns as a result of the drug.

I have since moved away from my roommates and have not used Mephedrone in about a month, nor have I experienced any withdrawal. I plan to do M4 again in the future, but only on special occasions.
