I've been taking Celexa (Citalopram 20mg) for 5 months now. Before I take other drugs I always check for possible interactions, except when I decided to take an Adderall XR. I had a long drive ahead of me so I just popped it without thinking. When I arrived at my destination, It had been about 6 hours after I took the Adderall. I felt great at this point, and started drinking casually.

It being spring break and all, my friend and I snorted a Vicodin each. I've found that Opiates do not have any negative side effects when I take them with the Celexa. Over the next 2 hours, I drank a few more beers, and then smoked a small bowl before going to sleep. I had finally offset the adderall and was excited to go to sleep.

About 2 or 3 hours later, I woke up feeling hot. I was sleeping in a room I had never been in before, and it took me a good 5 minutes to remember where I was. I kept feeling hotter and more agitated, and realized I was covered in sweat. I threw my clothes off and went into the bathroom. I felt like I needed to vomit but it never came, and I was extremely frightened. I knew my body was reacting to the Adderall and Celexa, which I foolishly did not investigate before indulging. I looked in the mirror and there was almost no color in my face, and sweat was coming out of every pore of my body. I've never felt that hot in my life; I thought I would surely overheat and die. I could barely see anything; I had tunnel vision and I felt like I was tripping. Comparable to a heavy DXM trip, but with more confusion and and a feeling of impending doom.

I managed to stumble into the living room, which thankfully was a lot cooler than the room I was staying in. My legs and arms were barely working, and all I could do was sit and stare at the wall and hold my head. I was hallucinating and saw patterns on the wall and wasn't sure what was happening, which made the experience all the more frightening. I wanted to get my friend to take me to the hospital, since I suspected Serotonin Syndrome, but I didn't want to scare her so I waited it out.

I began praying to god for my life, and apologizing for being so stupid. I'm not sure if it worked, but I really believe someone or something was watching over me that night. After a few minutes, my temperature went down and I stopped sweating. I went back to bed extremely relieved and grateful that I wasn't dead.

This whole experience probably lasted only 10 or 15 minutes, and was the scariest thing I've been through so far. I am thankful to be alive. And needless to say I'll never take Adderall again.
