Smashing Mailboxes While Blacked Out

DOSE:
20 mg oral Pharms - Zolpidem (pill / tablet)
20 mg oral Pharms - Zolpidem (pill / tablet)
BODY WEIGHT: 260 lb
Ambien

When I first took Ambien recreationally, I had read that it would get me high and decided to try it.

At first, I took two 10mg pills, and then I took two more when the effects began to start.

For the first 15 minutes, I felt nothing. Then, music began to sound incredible. I began to feel stoned, like I had been smoking weed. I loved the music and the way it felt. After some more time had gone by, say around 45 minutes total... I began to feel drunk. I found myself tripping over shit (literally, as in falling down) and becoming confused.

I enjoyed everything, and then my inhibitions began to fade away. I would send jumbled messages to friends online about things I wouldn't talk to them about normally... I texted sexual messages to girls I knew, and even posted on a social media website about some stupid philosophical crap while listening to 'Enya - Only Time'.

As time went on, I seemed to lose connection with reality more and more. My memory of the experience begins to fade in and out, before it finally stopped. There would be evidence of my high the next day -- such as messages, trouble I had gotten into, broken things in the house, etc.

I will say that the high was totally out of this world -- I was fucked up and out of touch with reality. It is very addicting, and after tripping on ambien, it becomes hard to sleep WITHOUT it.

Some Random Memories from Random Trips:

1. I once watched a video. It was a commentary video or tutorial about some software. I was totally out of touch with reality. I heard the words, but I couldn't comprehend them. I comprehended that there was some HUGE news out about something that REALLY pissed me off. Some injustice was committed, and I had to know more, so I favorited the video and commented that I would go watch it again when I was sober.

[Erowid Note: Driving while intoxicated, tripping, or extremely sleep deprived is dangerous and irresponsible because it endangers other people. Don't do it!]
2. While tripping on Ambien, I blacked out and had faded memories of taking my F-350 out for a spin in the country. I drove into a ditch and passed out, engine running and all. Someone came to my window and asked me if I was okay, and then if I was drunk. I told them I was tired, and wanted to go home. They went back to their car and I drove out of the ditch. I then drove into a random neighborhood and began running over random mailboxes. When I woke up, I saw my truck parked in the MIDDLE of the road in front of my house, confirming that the horrible things I did were NOT part of a dream. Knowing that I had done that while on high doses(over 80mg) of ambien, I decided that it was IMPERATIVE that I quit doing it.

So.. My official statement: It's AWESOME, but at the same time... VERY dangerous. It's addicting, and it COMPLETELY removes my inhibitions.

I could just as easily have murdered someone or drove into a convenience store and stole everything. Luckily, all I did was commit a DWI and a federal offense of destroying mailboxes.
