I've been on ambien for about 4 years now and as I've continued to use it I've noticed something very interesting. About 20 minutes after taking it, I begin to feel a craving feeling. At this point, I will usually smoke a cigarette, thinking this is just my body's way of telling me it needs nicotine. The craving will be sated during the time I spend smoking the cigarette, but upon putting it out I feel the craving again. At this point I will usually get a glass of water and take a few sips which will make me feel nauseous. I will then feel too warm and begin to splash the water on my face to cool down. Throughout this entire experience, the craving feeling does not go away, and I never seem to figure out what it is my body is telling me. It sucks.
