Last night at 10PM I had finished writing a paper on The Three Marks Of Existence and with my back injury killing me I took two 50mg tablets of Tramadol. I didn't read about it first and expected it to be less powerful then hydrocodone, maybe like Darvaset. All I had eaten was a small meal at 5:00PM. I try to always ingest substances on an empty stomach so there are no surprises do to variability in stomach contents.
+20 min I feel something but 10mg Hydrocodone would be stronger after the same amount of time.
+1hr Finally its starting to take effect. It was much slower then any of the substances I listed in the preface. I am feeling pretty good. Mild Euphoria but not the warm fuzzy opiate feeling. I think to myself here is another synthetic opiate that they engineered the pleasure out of. None are more euphoric then Morphine or the ones that turn into Morphine in the body such as Codein and Heroin.
+1hr 30min Still climbing and it is becoming very unpleasant. I am reading on the computer but I am overcome with nausea and dizziness. Every time I move my body at all I am about to vomit. I lay down on the living room floor. It helps the dizziness. Still just mild euphoria. It is feeling like a time when I insufflated an unknown amount but approx 20-25mg Morphine as far as the sickness. Just like too much morphine every time I move I am going to puke. There is substantially less euphoria though. My cognition is feeling slow and memory is impaired. Motor skills are similar to being drunk. Back is feeling better and muscle relaxation is noted.

+1hr 45min hrs I decide I am going to fall asleep if I don't vomit so I better go to bed. I gather myself and get up from the floor to turn off the computer and lights. Immediately I am about to throw up so I get the computer shut down and lay back down. After a few minutes I try to turn off the lights and I have to run to the bathroom to puke. After a painful dry heave of stomach acid I barely manage to gargle some baking soda and water to neutralize it.Then I take a few swigs of milk to get something in my belly and rinse my mouth.
+2hrs 30min I have thrown up a second time but managed to get the lights off. I literally did a slow crawl on the floor to avoid vomiting. I recall crawling around the house on Morphine with a bucket every time I had to move! At least with Morphine when I would be absolutely still there was the warm fuzzy daydream state. Still only minor euphoria that was over shadowed by intense nausea.
+3hrs Feeling horrible and fall asleep.
+12hrs I wake up feeling groggy but only mild dizziness. I expect it to clear up within a few hours after some breakfast. Body still feels heavy. I need to do some history reading so I have my standard morning two cups of coffee. I just browse the net and sip coffee for about an hour.
+13hrs The coffee is taking effect now and as it comes on I get sick. The feeling comes back. Again every time I move I am going to vomit. I try to sit it out for a while and keep reading but eventualy I know I have to lay down. I force down a frozen french bread pizza and head for the room.
+14 hrs I am laying down and absolutely cannot read the history book. So much for doing homework. So I manage to vaporize some Cannabis and go back to sleep. I am starting to wonder if I will be straight for class at 7PM. Luckily I know we should get out in 1 hour instead of the usual 3.
+17 hrs 30min I wake up still sick but slightly better. I warm up a meatloaf sandwich and get down 24 ounces of water. I chew up a couple gummy vitamins and very slowly get ready for class. All the moving is making me dizzy. Still feeling groggy, cloudy head, impaired memory and concentration, sort of drunk feeling. No euphoria at all just like a bad alcohol hangover.
+18hrs I drive to class without incident. I haven't read for the little quiz but I get 4 out of 5 by guessing. We review for the mid term for about an hour. I go home.
+24hrs 39min I am sitting here writing this trip report. I just had a little left over Pad Thai and more water. I feel improvement but still rather sick. Burping alot, dizzy, headache. My stomach feels independantly unhappy from the dizziness in my head. When the heck is this going to end?! I have class at 9AM.
I would never take Tramadol again! I've only taken an SSRI once and I felt a very similar sickness. Mild serotonin syndrome maybe? I don't really know, I just wish it would end NOW! Finished writing at 25 hrs 03 min.
