I was always curious about Ambien and it's hallucinatory effects, but it wasn't until recently I discovered what kind of power this pill had. I had recently tried Ambien for the first time just a few days earlier. I was expecting to hallucinate like many of the other reports I have read about. I originally took the one 10mg pill at around 8pm and waited an hour to see its effects. I felt nothing after about an hour I took a couple more and was up to 30mg. After another half hour passed, and I just felt a little groggy so I decided I would just take the other remaining two pills I had so I was then up to 50mg. After a few minutes I began to feel super sedated and decided to go have a cigarette outside. While outside smoking my mom came home and I normally wouldn’t smoke in front of her but I had this feeling of I don’t care about anything, and I was up for anything. A few minutes later I get a call to go to a fire, and me being up for anything I decided to drive there, which I highly wouldn’t recommend. I felt very social when I arrived and it appeared to be obvious I was messed up on something, as I could barely hold my balance standing still. I had two or three beers over the night and it intensified the experience even greater. Anyway, I was there for an hour or two and decided to head home, which was a bad idea to drive and would never recommend. I had a good time overall and the Ambien was very fun, that basically gave me an extremely drunk feeling.

A few days later a girl texts me around midnight asking if I want to come over and watch a movie, I didn’t really want to considering I had no interest in her but she then tells me she’ll give me some Ambien (who was the person who I got them from in the first place) and give me a ride over to her house, so I agree. It’s around 12:45 when I get there and she gives me two 10mg Ambien and a 0.5mg Klonopin which I began to chew up and down with some root beer. We begin to watch the movie and she had already taken her one Ambien that she is prescribed about an hour ago, and I immediately notice she was coming on to me. We watch the movie for about twenty minutes, and I found myself much more loose, similar to the effect a few beers. Then things started to get heated. We went to her bedroom and had sex for some amount of time I have no idea. I can’t say if the Klonopin or Ambien made the experience any better or worse. Afterward, I get up and started to get dressed and I noticed I was highly unstable and could barely stand or get dressed. She went into the bathroom afterward and seen her Ambien bottle on her TV and decided I would take five for the road. I told her I had a ride coming to pick me up which was a lie, but I didn’t want to stay there. I check my phone and it’s already 4am. For some reason I had this idea that walking home was a good idea. Wrong., my house is about three and a half miles away and it’s pitch black outside.

As I begin my trek home I find it nearly impossible to walk in a straight line, and I have barely any idea of my route to get back home. I made it pretty far and then realized I had five Ambien in my pocket, which I was going to save for another time but being in a drunk state of mind I decided I would take one more. After walking for about another twenty minutes I for reasons unknown decided to start looking in mailboxes for mail I could read, or some other reason unclear to me now. I continued to do this for about half the trip home but gave up, as almost all of them were empty. Along the way I continued to take a couple more Ambien and at this point I can almost say I felt like a zombie walking without any mind processing capabilities. About half way home I find a scooter laying along side of the road which I decided to take to speed up the process home. I remember I could barely even use the scooter in the first place as my balance was nearly shot. I came up on a hill, and I began picking up speed, next thing I know I’m probably going 20-25mph down a pitch-black hill and I find myself out of control. As I recall I remember bailing off the scooter thinking it was a good idea at the time, but I wiped out extremely hard and ate shit all over the pavement. I got up extremely quick and I don’t recall feeling much pain. I continued walking and I must have taken the last of my Ambien so I was up to 70mg on the night. The last thing I remember was looking at street sign that said 7th but that meant nothing to me. But now that I remember that I now realized that I was at least a mile and a half from my house. The more and more I recall the entire experience, the more I realize it was very similar to something I would have in a dream.

Next thing I know I wake up in my bed at home wondering what in the hell happened. How I made it home and that last mile and half will forever be a mystery. The next day my mom asked me what I was doing outside walking around with my hood up, which I have no recollection of, and I just said I don’t remember. I must have came home when she was getting ready for work at around 7am. I woke up around 11am with cuts all over my arms and legs, and feeling extremely tired, because I think the Ambien was still in effect. I’ve only blacked out one other time previously before this on alcohol, but this was completely different. Scarier than anything, as I felt I had no control over my body and would probably have done anything given the moment. 70mg was much too high of a dose. It was still a good time from the things I remember, despite never getting any of the hallucinatory visuals that other users report.
