I am a late 20's male with plenty of drug experience in the past, having researched the majority of popular compounds and have dabbled quite a bit in research chemicals as well. Currently, as of the past few years I have significantly toned down my drug usage. My current drugs of choice are alchohol (two times per week), caffeine (daily), Ritalin (as prescribed.... Very rarely abuse it), and marijuana once in a while. The majority of days I am sober and couldn't be happier.
Last night was my second experience with pure (lab tested at 99%) mephedrone and fifth experience with cathinone derivatives (used 4-FMC once and 4-MEC twice) in general. These drugs have quickly became my recreational drug of choice, and I enjoy them far more than MDMA and Cocaine (which they are most often compared to). What made this experience quite different was that this was my fist time purely using an oral ROA. The other experiences involved insufflated doses.
Setting: A late night concert.
Location: East coast USA.
I had brought with me to the show a few capsules full with 175mg 4MMC. My fiancÚ, who was with me, was interested in trying it but was a little too scared to take a 175mg dose for her first time. I thus went into the men's room and emptied a bit into my hand (around 40mg probably). I licked it and returned to the show. No more than five minutes later I had a good stimulation buzz going. Felt like 20mg of adderall but no speediness. Just calm pleasant stimulation. I waited 45 minutes or so and was totally back to baseline.
As the show started I popped the 175mg capsule and chased it with a beer. It started kicking in no more than 10 minutes later. One thing I love about cathinones compared to drugs such as MDMA is that there is no anxious come up. It feels like taking a shot of espresso so to speak. Once it hits me seconds later I am peaking.
The oral ROA has nowhere nearly as intense of a rush as insufflation does. When it kicked in I felt slightly euphoric, awake, alert, clear headed, calm, and happy.

Music sounded better and dancing was fun. The headspace was very nice and incredibly enjoyable.
The peak lasted around 45 minutes or so and slowly and unnoticeably tapered down to baseline. By 1:30 I was totally sober. I had no desire to redose, even though I had two more capsules on me. I had a few more drinks during the show and enjoyed the rest of the night with my fiancÚ.
What really surprised me about the oral ROA is that there was no craving to redose, no come down, and a very very minor hangover (almost unnoticeable). This is very different from the insufflation, as to this day I have never experienced worse cravings than from my first time using 4MMC (for me they were far worse than cocaine, oxycodone, and ketamine cravings) where it literally took me a full week for the fiendings to subside. In addition to fiendings, insufflating cathinone derivatives had left me with multiple day brutal hangovers similar to MDMA. After oral ingestion, I felt a little tired the next day and a little 'slow' but that was all. By day two I was 100% back to normal.
While the oral ROA high is nowhere nearly as euphoric or 'crazy', it is incredibly pleasant and carefree, which at this point in my life is a very needed escape from time to time. It seems like a better choice if I have a busy week coming up and can't deal with the very real possibility of being set back a few days, which insufflation undoubtedly does.
All in all 4MMC is probably my favorite recreational drug, and responsible use can lead to some very fun and enjoyable nights. It is not mind expanding like LSD and has (in my opinion) no therapeutic value, but it definitely provides for a lot of fun... Which every now and then is a great thing.
