I use Adderall recreationally, as I can't afford nor do I like the withdrawal and cravings from coke. I do not have ADHD, let me preface that. I am prescribed Propranolol to help me combat general anxiety and frequent panic attacks. I have years of experience with amphetamines but have just discovered beta-blockers.

I love going out and driving, shopping on Adderall. But I am always self-aware that I look like a crackhead. All the adrenaline fueled symptoms such as sweating/hot flashes, tremors, muscle tightness in back, heart racing, shortness of breath, jaw grinding---sort of gives me the look of an addict. Propranolol looks like it's going to change all that!

Today, I started taking Propranolol ER, 60mg. I took it at ten in the morning, followed by Adderall later in the day. Here's a summary of how it went:

1000 Swallowed 60mg Propranolol with a large cup of coffee, normal caffeine level, on an otherwise empty stomach.

1030 Limbs feel slightly lethargic, mentally feel like I took about 1mg Klonopin.

1100 I notice I am very cold, which I never am.
1100 I notice I am very cold, which I never am.
I put on a hoody and notice my hands feel like ice. I notice a little sway when I attempt to walk down a long hallway. Also, I am losing motivation to actually walk down a long hallway.

1115 I decide to check my pulse. My normal resting pulse is 75-80bpm. At rest, it is 54. Someone comes over to me and asks what's wrong. I ask why and they say my eyes are droopy and I look very pale. I notice while talking that accessing my words is slowing down.

1145 I notice that I really have no adrenaline, moving slowly, though unlike benzos my mind is still alert, but slow to react. Long story of why, but someone physically threatened me and got right in my face. I literally didn't move, flinch, or blink. I was like whatever...no flight-or-fight, no rush, no urgency. I feel like I could be approached by a pit viper and not really care.

1210 Feeling slightly concerned that my hands were ice cold and I was the walking dead, I take an Adderall--20mg, XR--with a sip of water.

1300 I notice a very slight alertness come over me, no sort of rush or noticable onset I would normally start to be feeling at this point.

1320 I am no longer cold, feel normal temperature.

1400 It sort of dawns on me that the amphetamine has taken effect. I haven't had the usual desire to start what will become a full day of chain smoking. Feeling very focused and my heart is not racing. My resting pulse is 72. Normally on Adderall alone, I would be sweating by now, muscles a little twitchy, starting to play with my jaw, and breathing would feel a little constricted.

1500 I feel pure. The Adderall seems to be peaking, my mind is focused, I am doing 420 things at once, and yet to the outside observer, I am not tweaking, my body presents as if sober. Curious, I swallow another 20mgs of Adderall.

1710 My mind is exploding into the Infinite, all things are possible and I am working on getting to all of them. The only physical side effect of the Adderall is now my jaw is going full speed. Resting pulse is an acceptable 96. Even still, there is a magnificent calm over me. I feel at peace and without limit. This is where I am on my journey; I keep going.
