Because opiate use can lead to significant tolerance (requiring higher doses for the same effects), the dose used by a first time user is significantly smaller than that used by a regular user. It can be extremely dangerous to choose ones dose on the basis of the amount taken by someone else. Overdoses of opiates can be fatal.]
Caution: I am an experienced and very high tolerant drug user.
Here is the story of my first time shooting up any sort of drug. I have been using oxycontin, Percocet, vicodin, roxycontin, and all kinds of pills for about 2 years now. I use about once a week. My main drug of use is roxycontin, and it has gotten to the point where I need about 6-8 30 milligram, roxy's to get really high. That's too much in my book and I decided to quit. The money alone was reason enough let alone the fact that I was just on a slippery slope.
Recently, I have been experimenting with black tar. The past 9 months I have been snorting brown powder heroin, but never experienced black tar except the past two months. I always snorted the brown, and only smoked the black tar, about 3/4ths of a gram of black tar throughout a night.
Recently I decided to try injecting some heroin before I went totally clean, just so I wasn't left wondering the rest of my life. I am VERY cautious when it comes to experimenting drugs that I have not before used (or in this case methods). So since my normal dose of black tar is a gram, through smoking, I decided to use half of a half of a gram (1/4th of a gram). I filled the syringe with .7 water and did all that good stuff and got the shot ready.
I didnt use the thing until about 8 hours after prepping it. Since it was my first time I sucked at finding a vein or knowing when it was in. Eventually I got one, and pulled back and saw blood, so I thought I was good. I pushed it all in and didn't feel much. Nothing at all really. My arm got a little warmer and warmer. About 5 minutes later I felt a SMALLLLL Buzz. I figured I must have missed. The entry point in my arm then was irritated and inflamed to the size of two half dollars side by side. No discoloration or anything uncomfortable, just swelling.
I felt good. Not as good as I should have. It was as if I snorted a 30 mg roxy. Thats it. The mild buzz that I had to think about to know I was feeling it lasted a whopping 20 minutes, if even. The swelling on my arm has been going down and I suspect it to be gone by tomorrow, or the day after.
Thats my story. If the swelling (according to my research) is painful or grows after 12 hours, I would go see a doctor.
Overall, whether I did or did not miss the vein... It was just not worth it. If there is a next time, I will use more, and have someone with me to make sure it's going correctly.
