**NOTE** Everything that I say here in my experience report is from my personal experience with the drug. I often make reference to other stimulants. NOTHING I say should be interpreted as being applicable to others. Every body is different, so everyone reacts in unpredictable ways.

A little background: I'm heavily experienced with stimulants. Most of my experience has been with amphetamines in the form of Adderall, Dexedrine, and Vyvanse, although I've done others like Ritalin, cocaine, MDMA, etc. About 4 years ago I got into them for college, and acquired a script. After using them pretty heavily for 2 1/2 years I decided I had to quit, due to all of the side effects I was experiencing (extreme weight loss, terribly sleeping schedule, chronic depression [when I wasn't taking the amps]). It's been about 6 months since I've used stimulants regularly, so my tolerance is at baseline. In terms of other drugs I've done, I am very experienced with opiates, and have done other drugs like benzodiazepines, DXM, nitrous oxide, mushrooms, and a billion others I can't seem to remember right now. The point is this: I am pretty experienced with mind altering chemicals and psychoactives, and consider myself a 'psychonaut.' On a side note, I recently quit 3 years of suboxone. This was a week and a half ago. So my body may be more sensitive to the effects.

The Experience:
(note: I took 100-1500mg of L-Tyrosine thoughout)
Prop trial 1
I picked up a single benzedrex inhaler around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. I have read quite a bit about it, so I was familiar with what to do; I broke open the container and cut up the cotton rod into 5 or 6 pieces--then, I placed them into gel caps. I consumed them all on an empty stomach.

00:45 I started feeling a noticeable increase in heart rate, and I feel myself becoming more mentally 'clear.' It reminds me of coming up on other stimulants, where I start to feel an increased clarity in my mental ability. I have a strong desire to keep playing video games even though I know I should get to working on my music. This is a typical effect of stimulants for me--I tend to get drawn into stuff I'd otherwise find boring after an extended amount of time.

1:00 Stimulation in hear rate is less pronounced. My hands are pretty cold and clammy. Was hoping for stimulation at this point, but perhaps its still coming on. I believe I have zero tolerance for stimulants right now, so it's strange I'm not feeling more of it than I am. On top of that, I recently quit opiates, so my sensitivity to uppers should be heightened.

1:40 I decided to join my Dad for a walk. I've been at home for a majority of the fall doing an internship while I take a semester off from college. When he said he was going on a walk I felt a desire to join him (plus the exercise would be good), so I joined him.

1:45 while walking I feel an increased desire to talk, and we converse about some interesting topics. We talked about everything and anything that's been going on. We talked about my work, which is nice because he has a background in it and was able to give me suggestions about projects I have coming up.

2:30 Back home now. I've been home for about 20 minutes now. There was no increase in stimulation after the initial come up. The buzz, albeit mild, is reminiscent of the amphetamines found in the medications I used to take. It feels less like Ritalin and more like Adderall, which isn't a surprise since propylhexedrine is chemically related to methamphetamine (according to the web).

2:35 Decided to take 1000mg of L-Tyrosine to see if I can increase the effects. I bought the amino acid recently to help with the post acute withdrawal effects of opiates, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it feels.

2:55 Feeling a little 'down' for some reason. I think the propylhexedrine is starting to wear down. Still waiting for the L-Tyrosine to kick in. I ate my first bit of food all day. I'm in a really healthy condition, so that's why I was able to wait a while--although there's definitely appetite suppression from the propyl. I've decided that it would probably be best for me to take 2 benzedrex rods next time. I attribute my desire for more stimulation to be attributed to the fact that I'm used to getting super wired on other amps.

Prop trial 2
500 mg consumed all at once. Had 2 eggs about an hour before, so stomach is pretty empty. It's the day after the first test, so tolerance should be negligible.

1:00 seems to be kicking in slower than the 250mg dose attempt.
1:10 come up apparent, but lackluster. In many ways I feel it less intensely than I did yesterday.
1:30 working at my job and being really productive. There's the familiar clarity of thought I get from all stimulants.

2:00 left work and started typing this on my phone. I notice that its kind of blurry to read. Lights are brighter. Strangely enough I checked my eyes and found them to be typical sized, little dilation. Weird.

2:35 went to take a piss when I got home. It was hard to do. I seem to be getting pretty strong urinary retention from propyl. Although not impossible, I did pee extra slowly. But, it is weird because I'm not feeling too stimmed out at this point; if anything, I've plateaued and seem to be coming down.

2:55 kind of in a depressed of flat mood, like I'm coming down. I'm surprised by how short this is lasting me. About to go and eat At a family dinner. I'm not feeling too hungry, so I hope I can force myself to look normal and eat. The brightness and hazy vision is getting annoying. I noticed that my eyes dilate big in low light settings.

For the remainder of the experience I forgot to continue writing down times. One thing I noticed is the physical stimulation lasted into the night, well past the 6 hour mark.

I had the MOST annoying trouble with my eyes. I literally would struggle to read anything in small print (like on my computer or phone). It reminded me of getting my eyes dilated at the doctor. I literally cannot do anything, the eyes simply won't focus on anything small, no matter how hard I try. I used to never get this from amphetamines (although I *was on suboxone when I was taking them, so that may have effected the eyes in some way).

I repeated another 500mg dose the following day. Same results despite taking on an empty stomach with 1500mg of L-Tyrosine.

My overall impression from both experiences is this:
Propylhexedrine seems to be a decent stimulant compared to other traditional stims (at least for me). Positives are the mood boost, increased chattiness, motivation increase, and the energizing effect. Negatives are it seemed pretty hard on my heart, the experience was rather short with a plateau around 2 hours after ingestion, and a crummy come down (which is expected--that which goes up must come down). I think the biggest plus is that it's OTC in the USA. However, for $7 a rod, I didn't find it all that worth it, which I blame on the fact that I'm experienced with stims in high doses. Yet even with the price, I will not hesitate to use it again in the future for something like a concert that I can't find other stims for.
