Subtle Euphoria Overly Boring
2-Aminoindan
Citation:   Aitvaras. "Subtle Euphoria Overly Boring: An Experience with 2-Aminoindan (exp99787)". Erowid.org. Dec 31, 2017. erowid.org/exp/99787

DOSE:
T+ 0:00
5 mg sublingual 2-Aminoindan (powder / crystals)
  T+ 0:30 70 mg rectal 2-Aminoindan (liquid)
  T+ 1:18 8 mg insufflated 2-Aminoindan (powder / crystals)
  T+ 1:38 17 mg insufflated 2-Aminoindan (powder / crystals)
BODY WEIGHT: 127 lb
10:32 am: ~5-10mg allergy test (sublingual)

10:52 am: No effects noticed besides perhaps slightly sharper/clearer and brighter vision, but I'm going to put that down to placebo.

11:02 am: 70mg mixed into 2ml of water and plugged.

11:12 am: Not feeling any different really. I'm not sure I plug things right because I never seem to feel it using this method. I will try plugging another 30mg differently if I do not feel anything in the next 10 minutes. I also insufflated the tiny specks that remained on the tray. Even that miniscule amount burned.

11:22 am: Starting to feel a nice tingly warmth. Feeling pretty good. No bad signs. No increase in heart rate. Subtle euphoria is beginning to wash over me; I feel very content. Feels rather dopaminergic in action.

11:32 am: Heart rate increased slightly. Feeling very good.

(It basically plateaued for an hour then dropped off rather suddenly.)

11:50am: Weighed out ~6-10mg and insufflated. Didn't burn this time. (Ineffective)

11:56am: Resting heart rate slowed down to regular BPM again. Feeling stimulated still but the warmth has tapered off; euphoria is rather short-lived.

12:10pm: 17mg weighed out and insufflated - did nothing.

12:53pm: The 2-AI has essentially worn off now and I've just eaten some dinner. I find that if I close my eyes I still feel wide awake - that is basically the only residual stimulation left. Resting heart rate is normal.

Summary: This was an overall positive experience. No negative effects whatsoever; it is just very short acting. The initial euphoria was quite subtle but nice. Heart rate was a-ok the whole time - even when raised it was never above 100 and was raised only for an hour at the most. Insufflation proved practically ineffective. Also I'd like to note there was no sign I was on any kind of drug: eyes remained undilated, no anorexia, no feelings of anxiety, etc.

In terms of similarity to other research chemicals, the closest thing I could compare it to is methiopropamine although the euphoria is more pronounced and also feels a lot kinder to the cardiovascular system. I have not tried regular amphetamine so I can't comment on any similarities.

The comedown (or lack thereof) was a regular one for me with stimulants of this nature. Not harsh in any sense... just the usual feelings of tepidness and slight irritability.

I haven't tried it orally but according to other reports it isn't very effective that way either. I may try a larger dose in the near future using the same ROA; probably somewhere between 100-120mg.

It's nothing special, but I'd certainly choose it over MPA. The headspace is very clear and it doesn't have that feeling of dirtiness that MPA possesses. It would probably be a good study aid if it weren't for the short duration (and the unconvential ROA.) If I had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd have to give it a 6.5.
