Legal Status: Harmaline lacks abuse potential and is not a controlled substance. According to Ott 1996, it appears to be "watched".

Harmaline was discovered on 22 December, 1837 by Fr. Göbel; isolating it (contaminated with harmine) from Peganum harmala seeds. See Göbel 1844
