  • Treatment for Opiate Addiction
    Use of Mitragyna speciosa as an opium substitute as well as a treatment for opium addiction has been reported since the early 19th century.

  • PayPal ban rumors?
    A vendor told us that PayPal had "audited" their business and refused to process any payments in the future for invoices that include any Kratom products. The vendor shared the email from PayPal with Erowid. (May 2013)

  • Used in Combo with Betel
    Kratom leaves are sometimes used in combination with Betel.1

  • Mitragynine
    Mitragynine is chemically somewhat similar to yohimbine and psilocybine.1

  • Harvesting Time
    It has been reported that the leaves of M. speciosa are most potent in the late Autumn, just before the leaves fall off.

  • Mellow Gold
    Products sold as "mellow gold" are NOT Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa). At this time (3/21/04), Mellow Gold continues to be sold, but has not been identified. [more info]
