Abstract
The following drugs potentiated the effect of epinephrine on the nictitating membrane of the cat without causing the nictitating membrane to contract: mescaline, harmine, LSD and LSM. BOL was approximately 66 times less active than LSD. Other psychotomimetics chemically related to lysergic acid (ALD 52 and LAE 32) potentiated the effect of epinephrine. Some ergot alkaloids devoid of psychotomimetic properties e.g. Gynergen and Dihydroergotamine-Sandoz, potentiated the effect of epinephrine.
