“Metabolism of lysergic acid diethylamide.”.
Fed. Proc.. 1958;17:352.
Abstract
LSD labelled with C14 and given i.v. and i.p. to rats resulted in similar distribution pictures with relatively high levels in liver, kidney and lung and low levels in blood, fat and brain. Similar results were obtained in cats. The picture is also similar to that in mice (Stoll et al., Experientia 11: 396, 1955). . The radioactivity excreted in the bile represented at least four substances, none of which seemed identical with the metabolite of LSD found in vitro (Axelrod et al., Ann. N.Y. Acad. Sci. 66: 435, 1957).
