“Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD-25). XXV. Effect of potassium cyanide and other oxidase and respiratory inhibitors on the Siamese fighting fish.”.
Arch. Neurol. & Psychiatr.. 1958;80:345-350.
Abstract
Potassium cyanide had an LSD-like effect on Siamese fighting fish. The effect was reversible, the fish recovering more rapidly than after LSD. . Sodium azide had an effect similar to that of LSD. . Hydrazine sulphate and hydroxylamine hydrochloride had no effect. . Anoxin and asphyxia produced the nose-up, tail-down position characteristic of LSD. The effect was reversible. . Dyestuffs such as methylene blue, Bindschedler's green, sodium-2, 6-dichlorobenzene indophenol, gentian violet and methyl violet produced similar phenomena, which are believed to be connected with anoxia.
