“Isolement de la Psilocybine à partir du Stropharia cubensis Earle et d'autres espèces de champignons hallucinogènes mexicains appartenant au genre Psilocybe”.
Compt. rend. Acad. sc.. 1958 Aug 4;247:557-561.
Abstract
Psilocybin was first isolated from Psilocybe mexicana Heim. The same method of extraction has since been employed to isolate Psilocybin from the dried carpophores of the following fungi: Psilocybe caerulescens Murr.var. Mazatecorum Heim; Psilocybe Zapotecorum Heim; Psilocybe Aztecorum Heim; Psilocybe semperviva Heim and Cailleuz; Stropharia cubensis Earle, of Mexican, Siamese and Cambodian origin.

Thus, Psilocybin has been found not only in all Mexican species of Psilocybe studied but also in Stropharia cubensis from Mexicao and South-East Asia. The hallucinogenic effect of Stropharia cubensis has been previously reported.
