“Effective use of naltrexone: What doctors and patients have not been told”.
Italian Journal of the Addictions. 2003;41:15-21.
Abstract
Omissions and false information in package inserts contribute to misuse of naltrexone.

The opiate-blocking medicine, naltrexone, has been shown to be highly beneficial in the treatment of alcoholism when it is used correctly. Used incorrectly, it has been worthless and perhaps even slightly detrimental. The information provided to doctors in package inserts along with the medication does not make the distinction clear and in general guides them to the incorrect usage.
