Abstract
THE COMPLICATIONS of drug abuse are protean and present an increasing diagnostic and therapeutic challenge as new drugs enter the illicit market. Diffuse vascular spasm has been reported after LSD ingestion and, more commonly, as a complication of therapeutic doses of ergotamine derivatives but has not been related to oral amphetamine abuse or other illicit drug ingestion. 4-Bromo-2,5-dimethoxyamphetamine DOB, a halogenated, methoxylated amphetamine, seems to have caused diffuse arterial spasm in a patient
seen recently at our hospital.
