“The chemorelease of norepinephrine from mouse hearts. Structure-activity relationships. I. Sympathomimetic and related amines”.
J Med Chem. 1966 May 02;9(3):273-80.
Abstract
A rapid method for determining the chemorelease of cardiac norepinephrine in the mouse has been developed. Endogenous cardiac norepinephrine is prelabeled with 5 µcuriea of norepinephrine-7-H. The cardiac norepinephrine-H remaining in the heart after 3 hr averages 340 mµcuries. Lower levels of radioactivity are found in heart when animals are injected 1 hr after the norepinephrine-H with a compound that causes chemorelease. The releasing potencies of a wide variety of sympathomimetic araines and related compounds have been determined. Structure-activity correlations are discussed.
