“On similar linguistic structures in creative performance and psilocybin-induced experience”.
Confin Psychiatr. 1970;13(2):115-38.
Abstract
As part of an investigation of the symbolic (i. e., perceptual-behavorial) interpretation of central nervous system activity, the authors have been concerned with the functioning and characteristics of language during states of ergotropic arousal.

The Functioning of Language

Our concern with the functioning of language during states of ergotropic arousal should be viewed against a background of writings in which the point is made that language, as a medium of communication, serves man best when it is used to convey the contents of a particular type of consciousness.
