I Don't Think It Was a Dream...
Calea zacatechichi

DOSE:
1 g oral Calea zacatechichi (leaves)
BODY WEIGHT: 185 lb
Last night was my third time with calea. The first time I smoked it and it was calming, but no dreams I remember. This week I put a bag of leaves in my coffee grinder and put them into capsules that contained about .25 gr each. I took one the night before last just to make sure they didn't make my stomach hurt. No effects, but a very small dose.

Last night, just before bed, I took 4 capsules. Then I went to sleep. At some point in the middle of the night I had to pee. Immediately when I stood up I felt 'off': dizzy, low coordination. I looked at my hand in front of me and it got smaller and smaller as I moved it. It was very exaggerated and strange, and seemed like it must have been micropsia. I thought, really, I'm seeing OEV's with _this_? I've done ayahuasca, San Pedro and fly agaric and never even had minor OEV's. So of course a slight panic crossed my mind that I had taken too much and was slightly poisoned.

I went to the bathroom, then as I was walking back to bed I had to struggle against passing out, though that was likely more due to my OCD/panicking from the experience than due to the plant. This often happens. I went back to sleep and feel better this morning.

I considered this morning the possibility that the hallucinations about my hands were so real that maybe the entire getting up and going to the bathroom was a lucid dream, but if it was it was the most boring one ever. If not, those were some really powerful OEV's. I did focus on thinking about looking at my hands before falling asleep, as that has helped me lucid dream in the past. I'm wondering if a dream carried over into waking state. I'll probably just do 2 capsules next time.
