Citation:   Shrooming Jim. "Transkei Panic Attack: An Experience with Mushrooms - P. cubensis (exp108060)". Erowid.org. Apr 29, 2019. erowid.org/exp/108060

DOSE:
15 g oral Mushrooms - P. cubensis (fresh)
  2.8 g oral Mushrooms - P. cubensis (dried)
BODY WEIGHT: 11 st
I had eaten mushrooms over 40 times. I tried African Transkei Cubensis at 1am one morning I began by putting on Some Dan Hicks and relaxing to the music. As I started feeling the effects my housemate came back who also decided to partake.

The initial effects were pleasant, a feeling of deep Intoxication slightly like the feeling of being drunk, I chilled and the thoughts were flowing it was nice. My housemate started talking about joining the army, I couldn't understand it - my housemate kept talking driving my crazy. The thoughts were no longer flowing it was complete bombardment. The thoughts were flying everywhere out of control, I began to think - "please shut up". The room began spinning round and I began to gasp for air
The room began spinning round and I began to gasp for air
, it was horrible. I felt like I was sinking down into a plug hole, I thought I was dying. Then it was like the thoughts went on pause, it was like my spirit sank out of me. It was a cold feeling that started at the top of my head and ended at the soles of my feet. I managed to calm down after remembering the fact that there are no known fatalities from the eating of psilocybe mushrooms.

This was by far the most negative physical side effect I had experienced from any Cubensis species. I ate a whole packet of chocolate digestives and went for a walk sang with the birds watched the sea in the moonlight and calmed down. I remember thinking life is like a show and that I don't want to 'lose the plot'.
