In recent times, I have come across some shrooms for the first time in about 4 years. I had a couple of trips here recently, but the third one, oh the third one was the charm:) On Saturday Drew and I made plans to go to Palo Duro Canyon on Sunday, the next day. A two hour drive but where I live to get to anywhere pretty much just head 2 hours in any direction, so we did just that Sunday morning. Not liking to be unprepared, I made a run and got what I could think of: glow sticks, camera, phone for GPS and music perhaps, change of clothes, some dro and shrooms. Drew brought the water and OJ, as well as some nutrition bars and his share of goodies.

On the way there, I could tell we were both very excited and anxious for what awaited us. As we arrived, we paid the $5 fee per person and passed through the 'fee station', lol. The entrance was grand, and gave way to a sprawling canyon dressed with red, white, orange, green and yellow hues from the rocks and cliffs, as well as the grass and trees. The sky was a clear blue sky, no clouds (or chemtrails:).

We plotted our 'planned' route, and headed to the start of our first trail. After about 15 minutes of walking the trail we found a place and felt comfortable enough to eat our goodies and smoke a lil green. Heading off on the Juniper Riverside trail, we begin our magic journey. The onset was the warm feeling with the grin you cant help but bare it. We came across a jagged, red rock face, with human faces seeming to be almost intentionally carved in it they seemed so perfect. As we walked I remember every so often I would see a sight that would blow me away, and I would just stop in my tracks, let out a shriek of joy, and just stare at its beauty and awe. At one point we layed on the ground and stared at the blue sky which seemed to have white/rainbow diamonds breaking through the sky.

After an hour or two, who knows right, I was at my peak and the color of the dirt would change between red, orange, yellow, peach, even to a rainbow look. The rainbow look seemed to be a big part of this trip for me, as everything seemed to exude evey color in an alternating fashion. The layers of rocks in the cliffs were like rivers, all moving in their own direction, but together, beautifully. The vibe between me and Drew was good, though at times I wondered if I was thinking out loud too much..lol. We came across a few people here and there, I did my best to act normal and say hi, though sometimes I felt I stumbled over my words. I one point I thought I heard a guy say something to the affect of, 'wait a second, what is that guy talking about? Did you hear what he said?' as if I made an off the wall comment, which I may have.. That made me a little paranoid, but I closed my eyes and relaxed and the feeling subsided. After two trails or so we headed back to our car, which I had relied completely on him for navigating as I was more gone and knew it. To an extent I hoped we get lost just to have an excuse to keep enjoying the great outdoors, but alas we made it to the car. We decided he should drive, which was a good idea, we made it home safely. On the ride I home I realized how I was missing my kids after they went back home after the holidays. I couldnt help but have some tears fall out, but it was needed.

For the finale of our trip, we got a cool lightning show on the way home, as well as some ice cream!! It was one of the best trips of my life, so positive and good, and fun and laughter. Cannot wait until next time!!
