My parents went out of town right after Christmas, and I had about 8 of my close friends who were home from college for the holiday break over for a small 'shroomfest'. We all ate our shrooms at around 6:00 pm orally (I ate mine in a Twinkee, to my surprise it worked rather well). After we ate our shrooms we sat and waited in my living room and talked about how college was going, and what we had been doing in the past few months.

About 45 minutes later I stood up to go get something to drink and out of nowhere BAM it hit me. Waves of emotions rolled through my body as the trip started taking effect. I felt dizzy for a moment but after a few minutes I was used to the effects and started enjoying myself. We sat in my living room and played Grand Theft Auto 3 on my Ps2 for about 3 hours straight. I remember the screen melting as I was driving the car around, and the lights from the Christmas tree in the living room were following everywhere I looked with a 'tracer' effect.

When the trip slowed down, a few of my friends left and I was sitting with a friend of mine who had just showed up with a 20 sack, and asked me if I'd smoke a couple blunts with him. I agreed and outside we went. Everywhere I looked I saw flashing blue and red lights. I couldn't get the idea out of my head that there was a cop there watching us smoke. I turned around what felt like every 5 seconds, where in reality apparently I was just sitting there with a blank stare on my face. The weed definitely brought my trip back up a bit, but I felt much more paralyzed. It felt good to just sit and stare at a wall, or a floor. I knew I looked stupid to my friend (who hadn't eaten any shrooms with us earlier) but I didn't care. I was in my own world, nothing else mattered except how much it would suck when it was over.

After we smoked I went back inside and went in the bathroom and glanced at the mirror. It scared the hell out of me. My eyes were huge and I started thinking about how loud we had been earlier and if a cop came there how busted I would be. Anyone that looked at me would know I was on something. I laid on the floor and tried to figure out a way to make things slow down, but I knew that just wasn't going to happen so I started enjoying myself again.

I watched the carpet move for awhile and the bathroom wallpaper melt for awhile then I rejoined my friends for the last 45 minutes of my trip, which were the most enjoyable to my surprise. I figured coming down would really suck but it's actually not as bad as I expected. We laughed, discussed what we saw during the trip then headed off to bed. I laid in bed with my blacklight on and only one word stuck in my head before I drifted off to sleep. Wow. I'd definitely say shrooms are a wonderful experience. It was a much more natural trip to me than LSD was, and I can't wait to try them again.
