I am generally not one to use drugs often, but I do enjoy smoking a good bowl of dank and kicking back to some good music sometimes. However after a few years I began looking for a more intense experience, which is simply human nature. I contacted one of my friends from work to get some mushrooms for this weekend. The entire week I thought a lot about what it would be like and of course did a little research on what the trip was like because I heard that some people freaked out when they took them.

All was good when I got off work on Friday and went over to my friend Alice's house to join her 'mushroom party', which consisted of 8 people all doing it for the first time. And of course we were set with black light posters and a kaleidoscope.

7:00 PM - We eat the crunchy dried mushrooms with peanut butter to hide the taste. I think they taste pretty good, (kind of like burnt pumpkin seeds.) But we all just sat around watching tv waiting for them to take effect.

7:25 - I start to feel an intense body high and mindset similar to marijuana high. Feels great but I'm not seeing anything yet.

7:45 - Wow, the wall and fireplace to my left is breathing with me. And when I look at the tv the floor ripples like small waves on the ocean. It hurts my dilated eye to have the light on so I turn on only the black light and look at the posters. They didn't look all that different so Alice gave us a tour of the basement which is very plain. I wasn't tripping very hard while upstairs but as soon as we got into the dark, BAM! Up is down, down is up, things are flying at me through the door! Look there are people running past me in the dark, oh, wait, nobody's in the room.

I ran back upstairs and from this point on through the next 3 hours I have no concept of time. My mind was racing so fast thinking about anything possible. Things like the beginning of the universe and the laws of physics raced through my head making time move at 1/10 the speed. When talking to my friends their lives and mine mixed together. First I was Jordan, and in my head I lived some of his life in a few mind boggling seconds. This kept on with whatever I thought about. My mind wrapped my thoughts around everything I thought of, and I explored it, branching off in thoughts that normally would have taken days to figure out.

We get out an art book by Alex Grey, this guy really does understand how life flows through time and how things interact and he does amazing drawings from what he knows. We come up with amazing theories that trip us out of our minds for about an hour.

When I looked through the kaleidoscope at the black light posters I entered the world of the kaleidoscope where the only things that existed were geometric colored blocks that spun around for infinity melting into each other forming new ones. I could have stayed there forever.

11:00 PM - We have all come down enough to figure out what is going on. Me and two of my other really good friends have to leave and go back to his house. We hopped in his Firebird and did a pretty good job of driving.

11:10 - Before we get home we smoke a few bowls of really good dank and the mushroom trip gets brought up again along with being high. The music playing runs through my body and I can feel every note and beat through my whole body. I get a perfect image in my head of being up in the universe looking down on how small we are driving down the street while the music flows incredible energy through my body. I guess the driver did OK because we made it back alive to his house where I had a night full of the most amazing dreams ever. The perfect end to a perfect day kept running through my head.
