My First Trip to Wonderland

Three weekends ago I had my first experience with magic mushrooms and thought it was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. I consider myself quite the typical pothead and rarely dabble with anything more than weed, but I came across some shrooms and decided to try them. I was already pretty fucked up by then, having had several beers and at least 4 good joints, but the effects of the mushrooms were still fairly discernible from the other substances .

When I ate them, I felt nothing and had no idea how long I would have to wait until it kicked in. I went back to the party, drank another beer, and started talking to some people. I looked over then and thought I could see the veins in some guy's neck pulse. I started to feel like I could be a vampire, that I could sense this dude's energy and was affected by the ebb of his blood. It looked blue and was very plangent, the pulsating was sexual. I was transfixed by his neck until he walked away and joined the throbbing mob of people dancing close by. I reluctantly re-entered reality and started to notice things around me-the texture of the walls, the patterns on the ceiling, the feeling of the hemp of my choker pushing into my neck.

I was trying to smoke a cigarette, but kept forgetting about it and then becoming surprised to see it in my hand. My hands, then, were foreign to me, and watching them move left a trail behind them like the mouse pointer on my old computer. I lost complete track of time, and soon my friends were ready to go. I slumped over onto the person sitting beside me in the car and put my face against her back. I kept my eyes open and saw the most extraordinary things. I didn't realize that I was speaking, but she told me the next day that I had told her that the entrance to Wonderland was through her back, and invited her to join me. I kept peering into her back, oblivious to the fact that I was talking, and became lost in the colors and shapes my eyes were forming. I eventually went to sleep and woke up feeling like I'd just gotten back from an incredible journey.

The entire experience was extraordinary, but I wish I hadn't been high/drunk when I tried them. I hope to do them again-until then, however, I have ordered some Salvia. I'm going into this a little more prepared, having researched Salvia through a lot of sources, and hopefully I'll have something to say about that!
