We decided that C and my boyfriend and I would all do them together. Both of them had mushrooms the week before and were excited to have another experience. My boyfriend and I waited until about 11pm before we took them, that was when my friend C got out of work. My boyfriend experienced a lot of nausea the previous time he did them, so I made sure to eat the slow, over a period of about 20 minutes. I also saved the largest cap to eat later. So I ate the mushrooms. The first thing that I noticed was that I felt really anxious. I was laying on my friends bed relaxing and all of a sudden I started to feel different. I sat up and I did have some nausea, but I noticed that the curtains were “breathing.”
I started to feel like I had a lot of energy, and I decided to go walk around. As I was walking, I noticed that it felt like I was leaning forward and then backward, even though I really wasn’t. It felt like I was 8 feet tall, and that I was walking on air as well. I felt like this for the entire night. It felt really great, and I was starting to feel some speedy effects like cocaine might give. I decided to visit some friends. When I got to their room, it felt like they were being so nice and warm and welcoming to me. I sat down on a chair and they started talking. Everything that they were saying was just sounding so profound and amazingly witty for some reason. All they were doing was listening to music on the computer and having a few drinks.
As I looked around the room, I was having some intense visuals. Shadows were moving, the colored dots on the floor were swirling into patterns. I decided to stare at them. This seemed funny to me and I burst out in hysterical laughter. I could not stop laughing. Everything seemed to ‘flow’ together.

I walked down the hallway and I noticed the pipes lining the ceiling, which looked awesome to me. I felt so playful and happy. I went to the bathroom, and I was about to get up when all of a sudden I noticed that the dots on the floor were swirling into a beautiful pattern. I watched the floor swirl in disbelief. The walls of the bathroom stall felt like they were “breathing” and were a lot wider than they usually look. I must have sat in the bathroom for a half hour. After that, I decided to go hang out with my friends again, since I felt like they loved me so much. I got back to my friends room, and they were still just chilling and stuff. I don’t really remember much of this. All I remember is seeing a lot of patterns and swirls, and thinking about how my body felt and how much my perception of reality was incredibly warped. I remember wondering what reality felt like, and what reality actually was.
My friends decided to go to bed. Since there were about five of them, and they all couldn’t stay in one room, I led them to my room. My roommate was gone and I had two free beds. So, I brought them there and they talked for a while. I just could not get into their conversations. I was just too interested in just watching the stuff in my room. I watched the wood closet. The wood grain ‘flowed’ like a river. I watched a blanket that I laid out on the floor. For some reason all of a sudden, I thought that everything felt ‘funny.’ I started touching different things and started laughing my head off. I laughed so hard that I cried and choked. My friend C gave me a hug because I asked for one, and it felt like his hug was encompassing my entire body. I felt so happy. By this time I think I was starting to come down.
I decided to go back to the bathroom and watch the floor tiles again since it was so interesting. After that, which wasn’t as spectacular as the last time, but nevertheless amazing, I decided to go find C and my boyfriend. They were both in my boyfriend’s room. I found out at that time that they later had not tripped at all from the mushrooms and were really disappointed because they didn’t know why. They drank for a while, and then at about 5 in the morning, we decided to go to bed. I was still feeling the effects of the mushrooms, but just not as heavily.
I was starting to feel a little bit hungry, so I had my boyfriend get me some leftover Chinese out of the fridge. For some reason when he asked me if I wanted it heated up, I said no. So I ate it cold. When I started eating, I realized for some reason that cold was a sensation that I never bothered to try to understand before. I forgot what cold was. I ate more food, trying to grasp the concept of the feeling of cold. I got weird thoughts like this the entire night, but this is the one that I remember the most. For some reason, I asked my friend to get me something hot, so he made me a cup of tea. I found out that ‘hot’ was not as nice as the sensation of cold. I was somewhat disappointed. By this time, my trip was almost over, and I wasn’t feeling very much anymore. I smoked some marijuana with C and my boyfriend, and then I fell asleep.
The next day, I still felt the effects of the mushrooms. I couldn’t look at objects the same way. I kept expecting them to move. But I did feel pretty good the next day. I would definitely love to do mushrooms again, it was a very nice and enlightening experience for me.
