4 bowls smoked Catnip
Some friends and I are about to take a trip to California for spring break. We will be taking a coach bus, and have estimated the trip to be about 36 hours. Sometime we'd like to do something to alter our minds to help pass the time, maybe even open up with the people with us.

Some wanted to bring some marijuana (in some sort of baked good form), or LSD. Personally, given my history, I was looking for something legal, less conspicuous, and safe. Perferably cheap as well, given that I am a poor high school student. In my past I have vast ammounts of Marijuana, as well as MDMA, Mushrooms, Salvia Divinorum, and Calea.

Upon research, I read that catnip can calm and offer a very mellow high, so I decided to check it out.

I bought a large bag of catnip from my local grocery store for something to the tune of 4 dollars. Even if it didn't work, I have 4 cats and the entertainment value alone would make my small investment worth it.

Being home alone, I walked outside to one of our barns. The snow is currently melting as the temperature continues to rise slightly each day. I would estimate the temperature to be in the mid to low 50s, slightly overcast, with a light breeze. Overall, very pleasant weather. I sat down on a chair, and proceeded to smoke 4 bowls worth of the herb through a water pipe. The substance burned quite readily, and the smoke was mostly clean, tasty, and easy to handle. However it has been quite some time since I did my last serious smoking, and I usually ended up coughing out my inhalations after about 3-7 seconds. The act of smoking 4 bowls took roughly 10 minutes.

Upon completing what I figured to be a sufficient ammount of catnip, I remained seated for a minute or two, yet felt nothing other than maybe a hint of pressure on the back of my eyes. I then took care to conceal my waterpipe, and walked back into my house. During the short walk, I felt mostly normal, just relaxed, a little refreshed. As I write this I think I recall the outdoors crisp, yet very very slightly washed out, like how colors look on a very old videocamera. I did not notice it at the time, and it may very well have been just a trick of the light reflecting off the melting snow on the ground. I walked to my bedroom, laid down on my bed, and felt very tired, but not sleepy. Just tired, pleasantly lazy. It was nice to lay down. I did feel quite hot and sweaty but once I took off my zippered hoodie, I was quite comfortable again. One of my cats came on my bed and, smelling the catnip on me, proceeded to nuzzle and cuddle with me. I had a very nice time laying on my bed and stroking my cat. This lasted maybe 10 minutes, before I rolled over and went on my laptop, which is at the head of my bed.

I felt very calm, throughout the entire experience, and could not tell when it had worn off.

I plan on making it into a tea tomorrow morning with a buddy of mine. However, I am satified with my findings, and ready to have at least one mind altering substance with me on the bus to California. I would like to continue using this substance because I had little to no side effects. I do have a slight headache currently, but it's not enough to really bother me. I do not know if it is related to the catnip. It's quite affordable, and I found the entire experience to be quaint and pleasant.
