A Bit More Relaxed
Passion Flower Powder & Tea
Citation:   Mindfreak. "A Bit More Relaxed: An Experience with Passion Flower Powder & Tea (exp77027)". Erowid.org. Dec 17, 2016. erowid.org/exp/77027

DOSE:
  oral Passion Flower (tea)
    oral Tea
2 Tbsp oral Passion Flower (ground / crushed)
BODY WEIGHT: 155 lb
Feeling a little uptight and anxious today.

12:30 - Made tea, about 8oz with Aquafina. Used Lipton Tea bag which is actually doubled up, emptied out half, filled other side with about 2 Tablespoons of Organic Passion Flower Powder. Steeped for around 15 minutes. Left bag in tea while drinking.

1:00 - Took my first few sips. Tastes a tiny bit bitter but not unlike unsweetened tea.

1:11 - Finished glass of tea. Not feeling much of anything but warmth from the tea.

1:21 - Not quite sure I am feeling anything as of yet. I am a bit more relaxed, but that could be a placebo effect.

1:25 - Got up to brew another cup from the same tea bag and felt what can only be described as airy. Not quite euphoric, but a mild sort of calm. Going to start drinking second glass from same tea bag.

1:31 - This cup is a little more bitter as the regular Lipton tea from the bag is fading, but it is not intolerable. I guess I could compare it to the taste of an aspirin that has been left too long in the mouth. Not the best tasting, but again, tolerable.

1:42 - Took tea bag out and squeezed remaining liquid back into rest of tea. It seems to take about a half hour for the effects to kick in. I would be interested to know what the effect of eating the passion flower powder is as opposed to filtering it via tea. I am considering some sort of concoction to get the powder from the teabag ingested. I imagine straight, it would taste like a bottle of aspirin.

1:46 - Second cup of tea down.

1:50 - Note to self, never try eating it again. I tried eating it out of the teabag and it is like chewing on sand and soot. Not terrible tasting, though the texture is what gets me. I imagine I wouldnt even know it was in something like a brownie though.

1:54 - Decided to take the paste type material from the teabag and throw it in some water and mix it up. It looks like seaweed, though it doesnt taste all that bad. I have just a tiny bit of the airy feeling. I imagine now that I am drinking the actual powder, it should intensify over the next half hour.

2:00 - I tend to like the drink cold. It lends to that airy feeling. Getting toward the bottom of the glass there is a grittiness to the liquid. Obviously the powder settles at the bottom. Finished it up, was hard getting the rest of it down.

2:30 - a little more of that airy feeling, no real euphoria, just a really mild calm.

2:43 - Not what I was expecting. Cant even be sure everything I felt wasnt a placebo effect. I feel a bit more relaxed, but nothing overly exciting.

Summary:

This didn't give me a Jimmy Hendrix mind numbing experience, but it would be perfect if I am looking to take the edge off without a euphoric high.
